Adair Co. Fire Dept responds to 2 separate grass fires Tuesday By Donald Hare, Public Information Officer Adair County Fire Department First fire at 11:18CT, 80 Bluebird Court, 2-3 acres burned The first one was at 11:18amCT to 80 BlueBird court to property owned by Barbara Key. There were 2-3 acres of property burned. There were 13 firemen on the scene for approximately 45 minutes. Second fire at 4:36pmCT, at 690 Reeves Road, 3 acres grass burned The second one was at 4:36pmCT at 690 Reeves Road for property owned by Millard Kinnett. There was around 3 acres of grass burned. There was 14 firemen on the scene for around 25 minutes. We would like to remind everyone that even as wet as the ground is, with the spring windy days, a simple trash or grass fire can get out of control in a instant. Mr. U. J. Wood, Metcalfe Co. KY native (1933-2014) He was a highly regarded member of the Greensburg Community. Mr. Wood had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church in Greensburg, KY. He was a retired school teacher and Water Plant Operator for the City of Greensburg.
