We'll even be happy to share the secrets of the south's mysterious "Boiled Peanuts" with those who want to explore their southern side.

Carl Keltner, formerly of Columbia, KY (1930-2012)

He was a native of Green County, KY and former resident of Columbia, KY. He was a member of a large, prominent family, the son of the late Thomas Alfred and Montrie Blaydes Keltner and the last remaining sibling of George Keltner of Columbia, KY, who survives. He leaves eight direct living descendants. Mr. Keltner was a Korean War Coast Guard veteran, a member of the First United Methodist Church in Glasgow, KY, a retired grocery store operator and a meat inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture for 20 years.

Carl Keltner, age 82 years of Glasgow, KY formerly of Columbia, KY passed away Monday, October 15, 2012 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY after several months illness.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Jerry Hatchett the officiating clergy. Interment in the Columbia Cemetery, 315 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with full military honors by VFW Post 6097. The family requests visiting 6pm-8pmCT, Wednesday, October 17, 2012 and from anytime on Thursday until the funeral hour at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia, KY.

Flora Marie Cundiff, Adair County, KY (1927-2012)

She was a native of Russell County, KY, and a member of a highly regarded family. She leaves 14 direct living descendants. She was a welder and retired from the Kroger Baking Co.

Flora Marie Cundiff, 85, of Columbia, died Monday, October 15, 2012 at 11:48amCT, at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 10amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Gene Conover officiating. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery in Russell County, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at the funeral home.

Commissioner Terry Holliday and Alan Reed, Superintendent of Adair County Schools are preparing everyone for a big change in the numbers since the results were reported last year.

The Spring of 2012 the Adair County Garden Club held a couple of classes at the Trabue House to teach people how to grow their own mushrooms.

Yesterday I opened up the little area that I had my logs in and, much to my surprise, I had some Oyster mushrooms growing.

Police have excellent photograph, left of the robbery from video surveillance. Early match doesn't pan out. But bank officials have confidence that this time, the perpetrator will be caught.
