Site News: A little behind on Events postings Good news: The site is busier than ever, with more views, more requests for advertising (it is a for profit site with the aim of making a living, but not a killing), and requests for news posts. The downside is, we're a little behind on posting, especially in the complicated and extensive - but highly used - revivals postings. We're getting to each as fast as possible. If your submission hasn't been posted in 24 hours - or if there is an emergency - give a call at 270-250-2730. Maybe there's a small problem with the submission. 2012-09-25 10:06:55 | Comments | Printable version

What every school board member (and candidate) needs to know By Ed Waggener The increased interest in the Adair County School system to the point is encouraging. Public participation in school affairs is a sign that Adair Countians really care. An even greater sign of how important public schools are is that more candidates are willing to take on the sometimes thankless task of serving on the School Board. Shamarie Claiborne's personal commentary, Comment KY law, Site Based Council Powers & School Boards, on the schools and the school board/SBDM separation of powers brought this link to mind. It's a pocket-guide for anyone wanting to be a school board member, and it's just as useful for citizens concerned with what the school board does, and why it does it: What every school board member needs to know/PDFThe PDF is a useful guide for those in the media, too. - EW 2012-09-25 07:43:36 | Comments | Printable version
