Hospital Tax Recall Petition turned in with 900 names

Vicky Pike, an organizer of the Hospital Tax Recall Petition, submitted the petition signatures to County Court Clerk Sheila Blair today, Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at 12pm noon CT a few hours before the deadline.

The petition needs 755 valid names to put the matter to a vote. Pike said the committee had 900 signatures, but their own check reduced that number to 826.

According to Clerk Blair, Pike said, the verification process by the County Court Clerk's staff office should take no more than two weeks. If the petition has the necessary valid signatures, the earliest a vote could be taken would be November 2014.

Labor Day is birthday day for 13 at Tucker's Station Farms

"We are a multi-species family and we all have to get along". - BARBARA ARMITAGE
Click on headline for story with photo(s)

By Barbara Armitage

All of our 4-legged children at Tucker's Station are adopted - that makes it hard to know exactly when everyone's birthday really is. To simplify things all the "kids" share the same birth date - Labor Day.

This year the canine kids opted for a traditional hamburger cookout birthday party complete with a dog friendly birthday cake. We learned to keep the party simple after the year the puppies ate the party hats.

We - Barbara and Wayne - currently share our home at Tucker's Station with 13 dogs and 4 cats all of which were sadly abandoned on Bull Run Road.

We're often asked if the humans, felines and canines ever have problems. Like all families we have our problems but we remind the kids frequently that "we are a multi-species family and we all have to get along". -Barbara Armitage

A lot of important events are posted in Birthdays this morning

September 4, 2012 this morning with 29 Entries at 3:55amCT, of In Memory Birthdays, and Anniversaries, in CM Birthdays for today.

That was after, a beautiful two year old's birthday was added, a duplicate was deleted, and one In Memory Birthday was updated with a link.

There are a lot of very important people listed. We hoping to hear about the Card Party for Felton Fudge who is 90 today.

We hope we have all eligible celebrations for today; but, if not, there's still time to send them. We'll post today if possible, and if not, just as soon as we can!

And thanks. People are always asking how they can help us in our goal of providing 80% of all the essential news, and still operate as a for-profit website with a goal of making a living, not a killing. The biggest help is to help us streamline posts. In the area of birthdays, it now works so well. There was a little clean up this morning, eliminating a duplication, but those are rare this year, as most participants now know to check the two month list, and if a Birthday, Anniverary, or In Memory Birthday is already posted, it will automatically recur until we are notified otherwise. Thanks!

Use any Contact-Submit button to send entries for September and October. Year of birth or year of wedding (in parenthesis) optional. For persons from or in Adair, Casey, Cumberland, Green, Metcalfe, Russell and Taylor Counties of South Central Kentucky.
