Fan mail for Ma Emma Jessie Fudge, Kentucky Color, BJF

Linda Waggener writes:
Dear Billy Joe, I always enjoy your writing but this one on Ma Emma Jessie Fudge is simply perfect. The way you carefully crafted each word to share the memory of your grandmother in brave action made me think how easy a director could move the actors around for a perfect movie! Good job, please send more installments on her. She could have fit in my family perfectly!!

Thanks for writing!--Linda Waggener

Got a weekend event to publicize: Still time to post

Easy Way to get free publicity which would cost $50-250 and more otherwise - but as advertising still the best media bargain in the country! A HEADS UP: Of course there is no Willard County, KY. It's a figament of mischievous minds. It's a mythical place, somewhat like Adair County author Chris Rowe's "Cane County." Willard County was created by the late Hughes Walker and a Mr. Renfro to confuse the Fried Chicken loaners sent by John Y. Brown to help a Democratic campaign they worked in. The dossier on Willard County lasted only until J.R. Miller called the boys into the office demanding they end it after the Fried Chicken whiz busted in Chairman Miller's office wanting to know what he was going to do about the internecine party faction war in Willard County which was undermining the campaign throughout the region. Chairman Miller was not amused.
If you have a weekend event to announce and would like it on the CM Events calendar, there's still time to do so. Send using any Contact/Submit button.

For fastest posts, send in paragraph form in this sequence and style:
Benefit for Arvil Fats Wooten perpetual re-election campaign
The Willard County America First Singers will be in concert at 6pmCT/7pmET, Saturday, February 25, 2012, at the Arvil Fats Wooten Convention Center, 767 S. Kevil Parkway, Comet, KY. All proceeds after skimming will go to the Arvil Fats Wooten perpetual re-election fund. Everyone is welcome to this free event. - Arvil Fats Wooten
That's the official CM sequence, style, and minimum content facts we use. But you don't have to write it that way, so long as you send us the information we need, have it "parked" on CM in a Directory, or give us easy contact information to let us contact you. Or, just send the following content and we'll write the announcement.

Federal funding may be available for KY 80/KY Lake bridge

Governor Beshear signs necessary order to preserve state's eligibility for Federal monies to help with project
Eggner's Ferry Bridge is out on (far) West KY 80. From Downtown Columbia, take Burkesville Road, to Miss Victoria's farm, turn right on Edmonton Road, and keep going west a right smart ways. KY 80 is almost 465 miles long, stretching from Columbus on the West Coast of Kentucky, and passing through major destination points including Cave Ridge, Edmonton, Gascon, Gradyville, Bliss, Miss Victoria's farm, Columbia, Ozark, Radio Tower Hill, the Chicken Ridge turnoff, ROYVILLE/Russell Springs, and Font Hill, and ending somewhere over in a place called 'Pike County' - in or at least near Kentucky. If a findist sends the mileage from Miss Victoria's Farm to Eggner's Ferry Bridge, the information would be most appreciated, and we would be much obliged. On the spot photo's of Eggner's Ferry Bridge welcome, too. -CM

Kentucky Color - Ol' Chickenhawk

A classic Billy Joe Fudge Kentucky Color of an unforgettable Adair County woman, his Ma Emma Jessie Fudge successfully battling a predator, always ending with a triumphant after battling warning: And if you want more of the same just show up around here again and we'll be having you for supper
Click on headline for story with photo(s)

By Billy Joe Fudge

The mature Red-tailed hawk was historically referred to by our forefathers as a "Chickenhawk". I can still see my Ma, Emma Jessie Fudge, standing on the front porch of the old homeplace pulling the trigger on my Pa Fudge's 22 caliber Remington automatic rifle in an attempt to kill, maim or at least scare away a Chickenhawk screeching and circling above.
