JIM: How the Neatsville Home Guards saved Jamestown, KY Jim has uncovered one of the dandiest stories of the Civil War. The late Pete Walker and I read it a few decades back and both agreed it should never be forgotten. Now, thanks to JIM it has been found and is reprinted below. It is recommended reading for both Native Born Adair Countians and Born Again Adair Countians by Choice. And if, perchance, a Jamestonian is grateful and hugs a Neatsvillager for saving the Capitol of the County, and if the story is a reminder to those in the Sprangs who think it was a bad idea to save Jamestown at all that Jamestown had to be saved to assure peaceful habitation of their own town, so much the better, so much greater our indebtedness to JIM for this fresh revelation. - EW By JIM An eyewitness account of how the Neatsville Home Guards marched to Jamestown and saved the Green River country from the Johnny Rebs. Remembering Jimmy Forsyth: Will be missed by so many 'He's now in a place to help God keep score' -TRAVIS PAUL SCOTT By Travis Paul Scott Jimmy was liked and loved by people all over this region. He enjoyed the kids at our school (Adair County) and they all knew him and thought a lot of him. I will miss him at the state tournament this year. We always got to Rupp Arena early in the morning of the games and sorted out all of the world's problems downstairs as we had breakfast. I'll miss Jimmy and so will many more. He is now in a place to help God keep score. God bless his soul and keep a close watch over him. --Travis Paul Scott Comments re photo 43254 James Jimmy Forsyth Green County KY 19352011 2011-12-24 04:06:36 | Comments | Printable version Birthdays and Anniversaries for December 24 Happy Anniversary, Doug and Fredia Melton (1986) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Anniversary, Eugene and Carol Cowan (1970) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Anniversary, Joseph and Norma Jean Parnell (1958) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Anniversary, Randall and Joyce Pyles (1960) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Abby Cornelison (2000) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Alvin Shofner (1968) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Betty Sue Chelf Feese, December 24, 1950 | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Billy Willis | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Charles Gwen Powell | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Dicky Walker (1966) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Johnny Douglas Burton | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Leigh Ann Walker Parkinson (1965) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Lou Carney Smith | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Mike Mitchum (1963) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Peggy Curry Loy | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Riva Scott | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Sawyer Merritt (2001) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, Tara Elizabeth Jones (1988) | (Updates/Corrections) Happy Birthday, William L.
