ADAIR band does one better than last year at BOA

By Shamarie Claiborne

We are so proud! We've just learned the outcome of today's scoring.

Adair County did one notch better in 2011 National Competition at the Bands of America 2011 Championships than they did in 2010, getting 2nd Overall in the Class A band competition. In 2010 they finished third.

And the band tied for First Place in Best Visual Effects.

ADAIR blows the roof off Lucas Oil Stadium!

.Shamarie Claiborne
For Adair Band.com

INDIANAPOLIS, IN, (2011-11-12 at 7:31amCT) - The band blew the roof off Lucas Stadium. They were awesome. I couldn't be more proud. Now it's up to the judges. But everyone Adair Countian here KNOWS they are the best there is. We won't know how they score until this afternoon, but I can tell you this: The band rocked. They connected. They moved the crowd. There were tears of joy everywhere I looked. Thanks everybody back home in Columbia. - SHAMARIE CLAIBORNE at Lucas Oil Stadium, 500 S. Capitol, Indianapolis, IN.

Eleven Great Ideas, Most, but not all, from Great Thinkers

Not necessarily the greatest ones, but some important concepts which come mind this Saturday morning, another gorgeous one with so many things to do in Columbia, Adair County, KY and nearabouts. Not in order of importance, necessarily, just in order of how they came to mind. From Ron Heath, Tiffany and Eddie Kessler, Jerry Holt, the Adair Heritage Association, James Garrison, Somebody and Same Avery, Mayor Mark Harris, a collective group of educators, Pen, Christina O'Rourke, and Ralph Roy Waggener. And Us, on Kitchen Disobedience, a bonus 12th. After all, he who tooteth not his own horn, the same shall not be tooted - ED

By Ed Waggener

Salutes to the following in no particular order:

Columbia/Adair Chamber President Ron Heath: Always send personal thank you notes through the U.S. Mail. Best handwritten, with a selected stamp, on printed in Columbia stationery, mailed at an Adair County post office. Helps the local economy and a large, primary local industry, printing and helps keep a great institution, the local post office, in Columbia.

Proud of ADAIR band, Mooresville, IN Kentuckian writes

Claria Rodgers writes:
Ed, We are so proud of the Adair County Band. We want to welcome them to Indianapolis. It is very cold here tonight. They are so great in their performance yesterday and tonight. I am so happy that my home town band is here in our great state. Wish they had better weather as it snowed yesterday. Makes me home sick for Columbia when I see them performing at Lucas Oil Stadium. Home is a beautiful place. Thanks again, -CLARIA ROGERS, Mooresville, IN.
