Mark Twain roadblock for Kosair Charities Fri., Oct. 7, 2011

CM editorial comment: Have a check or cash ready for this causewhich has returned so much to Adair County. (More than we've given, in this case. Adair County is generous, and we want to change that and be net givers to this worthiest of charities.) It won't hurt to have a smile set and a word of appreciation and encouragement for Adair County's Mark Twain Shriners. -EW

By Robert W. Flowers

A couple of weeks ago I was a guest at the pediatric center at Frazier Rehab in Louisville, KY. The Kosair Charities board witnessed two young children learning to walk again after being in auto accidents.

The therapy is amazing and has been made possible by Kosair Charities. This is just one of the many agencies Kosair sponsors. Kosair is the largest benefactor to the Children's Hospital, Downs Syndrome Center, Autism Center of Louisville, KY, Trust for Life and many others. This year Kosair Charities gave 18.6 million dollars in grants to help kids in kentucky and Southern Indiana get well.

Our Mark Twain Shrine Club roadblocks will be this Friday afternoon, October 7, 2011, from 3pm-6pmCT, at Jamestown Street and Russell Road, at the entrance to Walmart, and on Campbellsville ST near Fairground ST. Please remember our cause and all proceeds go to Kosair charities. Do you know a child who has been helped by Kosair?

Give generously.-Robert W Flowers

Reformed smoker speaks out

Says smokers have right to harm themselves - but not to harm the people around them

By Melewi
Commentary

Even with a non-smoking section it is not safe for a woman to eat in a restaurant that has smoking.

I did not realize the percentage was so high for breast cancer when breathing second hand smoke.
