Henry, and Janet Bradley, the author of this history -CM By Janet Bradley In 1898 a group of Methodist people within the bounds of what was then the Lebanon District of the Methodist Episcopal Church South met in the tiny village of Acton, Kentucky, for the purpose of holding a brush arbor camp meeting revival. Camp Acton, now known as the Acton Retreat Center, is a five acre facility now owned and operated by the Columbia District of the United Methodist Church. Meyer, who attended Adair County High School and graduated from Green County High School, had already been nominated for the Congressional Medal of honor, the highest award which can be given to military personnel when this photo was taken.
