Welcome! Kayleigh Paige Esenbock

Michael and Kendra Esenbock of Lexington, Kentucky are excited to announce the birth of their daughter, Kayleigh Paige Esenbock. Kayleigh was born at 1:06pm on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY. She weighed 7 lbs. 9 ozs. and was 19 1/2 inches long.

Her grandparents are Mike and Lana Glasgow of Columbia, KY and Mike and Joan Esenbock of Lexington, KY. Her great-grandmother is Frances Glasgow also of Columbia.

The Adair County Cooperative Extension Service is now accepting sealed bids for the demolition of an old residential house located at 405 Fairground Street, Columbia Kentucky 42728. Detailed descriptions are available at 409 Fairground Street Columbia, KY 42728 during normal business hours of 8:00 am CT, 4:30 pm CT (closed 12:00 noon-1:00 pm daily) or by calling 270-384-2317. Bids must be submitted no later than September 23 at 4:30 pm CT in a sealed envelope to Adair County Extension District Board, marked "SEALED BID" September 23, at P.O. Box 309 Columbia, KY 42728. Russell Co. Rescue Squad membership drive underway

Russell County Rescue Squad is having a membership drive to gain resourceful and energetic volunteers to serve their community.

Requirements are: must be 18 years or older, must pass criminal background check, and have time for monthly meetings, training and callouts.

Interested parties can contact Commander Bill Walton at 270-866-5561 or 270-566-2153 or any Rescue Squad member for an application or help with any questions.

If you have ever wanted to serve the Russell Co. community now's the time to become a volunteer.- Carrie Burton

More than $3 million in agricultural development funds awarded

Adair County included in County Agricultural Investment Program (CAIP) incentives given to 11 counties totaling $2,217,575; Cumberland shares in supplement to existing CAIP's incentive total $277,275 for four counties

LOUISVILLE, KY. 2011-08-19) - The Kentucky Agricultural Development Board (KADB), chaired by Governor Steve Beshear, today approved $3,049,850 in 24 agricultural diversification projects across the Commonwealth during its August board meeting held at the Kentucky Exposition Center, during the Kentucky State Fair.
