Charles R. Marshall, Columbia, KY (1929-2011)

A steadfast, exemplary life is complete.
Charles R. Marshall was one Adair County's most important 20th Century leaders.

He was twice Mayor of Columbia. He was a City Councilman. He served on the Westlake Regional Hospital Board of Trustees. He was a founding operator of City Tv, Columbia's first cable Tv service. He ran the Columbian Theatre for several years.
He was a charter member of Pinewood Country Club. He was a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge #95, Columbia, KY; and he was a long term member of the Columbia Kiwanis Club.
He was a longtime, faithful member of the Columbia United Methodist Church.
He will be remembered for many accomplishments and traits of strong character and good humor; but for none more than for his love of this city - his residence for 80 of his 81 years - and his devotion to his wife and their family.
He was a great Columbian.

4 Trained, Easy Catch, Amish-Raised Layers need home(s)

Talk about a deal for the backyard chicken farmer:
Click on headline for complete ad plus picture. Chickens are used to good life in Joppa, KY, but may be pining for their ancestral home in Gradyville, so preference will be given to righteous chicken-loving residents of that community, all things elsewise being the same.

Maury Lewis makes this generous offer:

Four (4) chickens to give away. We have changed types of chicken and need toget rid of these by Friday June 3, 2011. They need to be picked up at my house because I no longer have a truck to carry things like this in.

We live off of Hwy 92 in beautiful Joppa, Adair Co., KY.

The chickens came from an Amish Farm off of KY 80 West, in the Gradyville area. All things being equal otherwise, Gradyvillians will have top priority.

They are well behaved chickens. You can usually walk up behind them and they will squat and let you pick them up.

The chickens are laying.
