The Art Department at Adair County High School invites you to join them 9am-4amCT Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at the Adair County Public Library, 307 Greensburg Street, for a "Taste of the Arts."

Ceramic art students in Ms. Debra Wimmer's class are pairing up with local bakers to showcase the work of both culinary and ceramic artists. Ceramics' students have designed and created truly unique and fascinating cake plates, inspired by the name of the cake.

Injury collision Marion Co., KY

Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY

LEBANON, KY (2011-05-17) - Trooper Christopher Saunders is investigating an injury collision that occurred in the limits of Lebanon, KY, on US 68 at 11:30amET. Martha Wilson, age 60 of Lebanon, KY was operating a 2001 Ford when she pulled from a parking lot into the path of Betty Benningfield, age 64, of Lebanon, kY who was travelling on US 68 operating a 2001 Dodge. Wilson was transported to Flaget Hospital by private vehicle and Benningfield was not injured. Both parties involved were belted.

We are collecting items to take to Hackleburg, Alabama, which was devastated by the recent tornadoes. We have contacted some friends in the community and this is what they've requested:
  • Sheets - all sizes
  • Towels -all sizes
  • Toiletries: baby wipes, brushes, combs, deodorant, hand sanitizers, soap, shampoo, toilet paper, tooth brushes, tooth paste.
Anyone wishing to donate to this cause, needs to Please bring their items to the church building, 501 Jamestown ST, Columbia, KY, as soon as possible so we can get them boxed up and ready to go.

Bradley Durbin took 1st Place in the prestigious Pine Wood Derby 2011, held Saturday, May 14, 2011, at the Adair County Middle School.

Second place went to Brandon Hagy, and Caleb Elmore won third.Participating in the activities were Dylan Hancock, Hayden Hancock, Zach Bertram, Brady Burton, Jarrett Perkins, Caleb Elmore, Alex Evans, Bradley Durbin, Brandon Hagy, Austin Arnold

The contest was under the auspices of Cub Scout Pack 888. Scoutmasters are Troy Elmore and Phillip Richard. The pack meets each Monday night at at 6pmCT, at the Columbia United Methodist Church, 202 Burkesville ST, Columbia, KY.
