Kentucky Color: Reaching toward the heavens See accompanying photo. Click on headline for story with photo Next previous Billy Joe Fudge/Kentucky Color : Kentucky Color - Transplanted Trillium By Billy Joe Fudge, Retired District ForesterKentucky Division of Forestry This ol' Hackberry is indicative of how, as we close in on Heaven's Golden Gates, we can show a little wear and tear from life's many storms. Sometimes there are many layers of scars which are, as I used to tell my children and I still tell my grandchildren, bragging rights. This ol' Hackberry has weathered many storms and is still reaching toward the Heavens in a mighty and majestic fashion and is due our respect and allegiance. As you travel along life's many paths full of vim, vinegar, and youthful vigor and have the chance to encounter some of these ol' Hackberries maybe driving a car in an erratic manor, or taking a lot of time in the checkout lane, or holding up traffic hobbling across the street, or talking too loud at the Doctor's office, or giving unwanted advice; just remember that he or she is covered with layers of scars (bragging rights) and that they are still reaching toward the Heavens...in a mighty and majestic way. 2011-04-29 15:14:49 | Comments | Printable version | See topic Kentucky Color by Billy Joe Fudge
