News from Lindsey Wilson Cycling

Tough Mudder is claimed to be the longest and hardest of the muddy obstacle course race series out there. I figured, I've done an IronMan and other grueling events, so I figured an obstacle course-muddy run would be super fun! I did not want to be mediocre at it, by any means, so most importantly, I had to get in the right mindset to have fun and do well.

News from the Kentucky Fish & Wildlife

FRANKFORT, KY - When Kentucky's spring wild turkey season opens April 16, hunters should get plenty of opportunities to match wits with the older, experienced gobblers that make the sport so challenging and exciting.

"We have a high percentage of adult birds in our flocks and they are coming into breeding season in excellent condition because of last fall's big mast (nut) crop," said Steven Dobey, wild turkey biologist for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. "The big harvest of 2-year-old birds last season may have buffered (lessened) the number of 3-to-4 year-olds taken."

A two story brick building in downtown Cane Valley once housed a bank, a barber shop, and had living quarters upstairs. According to Mr. Albert Woodrum, Cane Valley historian, at one time there were four filling stations, a Post Office, five stores, a stove factory, a school, bank and a garage and five churches which had 'Cane Valley Church' in their names

Cane Valley was a very active village in the 1930s and 40s as related by Cane Valley historians Bill Watson and Albert Woodrum.

They remember the bank being managed by Mr. Banks Hancock as president and Norene Cofer as teller. Mr. Ty (Tyler) Tupman, Bob and John Will Sublet were directors.

They said that each day Mr. Tupman would bring a basket of eggs to the bank and sell them to the bank customers.
