The newspape reference brought back a lot of pleasant childhood memories for me. Perhaps one of you could tell the story of the Jolly Roger. Thanks! -Phyllis CurryPhyllis, I believe you may be right. And didn't he also have the only Corvair, or the first one, in America? He was always ahead of his time. Though, for the "Jolly Rogers," he only had Columbia's second one. Leo Wheatley, had the first. Well behaved bees are welcome - in their place- during GBBC Taking corn out of bird feed, increasing sunflower content, setting up bountiful bee buffet away from birds dining area, has given birds bee-free banquet area Pam Dailey-McNeiley writes: About the bees... on Friday, I donned a jacket, gloves and hat, and stood and watched what they were going for in the feed. They were rolling and trying to pick up the cracked corn, just like Mr. McCasland said. So I emptied the feeders with the corn mix on plywood scraps on the ground about 20 ft. away, added apple slices and a tray of sugar water for good measure. Then I replaced the feed in the bird feeders with a no corn mix and lots of sunflowers and the bees went to the ground sites. They are welcome to stay and eat (and I will put some more cracked corn out for them on the ground), but just not inside the feeders while I am trying to do a bird count! -Pam Dailey-McNeileyComments above re article 42564 Bees If they are problem call join or visit GR beekeepers 2011-02-21 05:54:16 | Comments | Printable version | See topic Birds of Kentucky
