Does not think God would mind if we leave body parts for others

Richard Raines writes:
For those afraid of donating organs or tissue for fear that it would be held against them by God, I'll be the first to admit that I don't understand a lot of Bible prophecy that has not been fulfilled, I do understand that the Bible says that those who make it to Heaven will have a new glorified body. If I go by way of death, I don't plan on needing this old body any more. Please take time to read 1st Corinthians 13. I know that it is called the "love chapter" but what Paul says about giving his body to be burned (without love) should shed a little light on the subject.Just think about our forefathers who didn't have a way to (commonly) embalm bodies. If you could find their graves and dig them up, you'd be lucky to find bone fragments and a little rich dirt. I don't think God would mind if we leave body parts to someone else to use before it is returned to dust.

Birds of Kentucky: Northern Cardinal, American Goldfinch sitting

2011-01-28 - Columbia, KY - Photo by Jane Grant.
"Cardinal," Party of 1, Waiting "I put this platform feeder up yesterday after we made them at the Adair County Garden Club meeting and just look at the crowd it brought in! There was just waiting room this morning when I took this picture," Jane Grant writes. In preparation for the hundreds of phone calls we expect, all asking in unison, could the Northern Cardinal enumerator possibly be Countess Cardinal? Or is she just waiting for her name to be called? Maybe someone will have the answer to this and the final word on the Chickenhawk controversy at the first of three Birding 101 Classes which will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011, from 10am-12pm noon CT, at the Adair County Extension Office, 409 Fairground ST, Columbia, KY.

This inquiry has been been received on one aspect of Organ Donation has been received from a source who asked not to be identified. It is one which is important enough that we're posting, anyhow:
Information for one aspect for which I unsuccessfully searched was law(s) pertaining to costs to the family (or estate) of the donor. I "know" that law prohibits hospitals, etc. from charging the donor's family or estate for organ removal & transport but couldn't find a reliable source that so stated. Any help? Reliable Citations?

Identifies Bird on Wire in Russell Co., KY as Chickenhawk

Comments re photo 38932 Birds of Kentucky ID on bird.

Angela McVay writes:
I think it looks like a chickenhawk.Angela

Thanks. According to All About Birds: Cooper's Hawk "Chicken Hawk" is an "Other Name" for a Cooper's Hawk. The Cooper's Hawk is a year-round bird in this area. Wikipedia says that "Chickenhawk" is a common name for Cooper's Hawk, Sharp Shinned Hawk, and Red-tailed Hawk.

Some of our friends have identified the bird in the photo as Red-Tailed Hawk; still another friend calls it an Immature Bald Eagle, and yet another friend is of the persuasion that there is no such thing as a "Chicken Hawk." On this Issue, and not wishing to beat around the bush a-tall, CM unequivocally stands shoulder to shoulder with our friends. Let there be absolutely no misunderstanding on that. -CM

Wants photos of original James Phillip Moss farm structures

Sharon Whitehurst writes:
I'm wondering if this gentleman lived on the farm which we now own. J.M. Shelley gave us an aerial photo taken shortly after the new house was built--probably mid-1980's. On the back of the framed photo is written, "James Philip Moss Farm." I've been hoping someone would surface with pictures of the original house and buildings.-Sharon Whitehurst
