Christmas stories 2010: Santa remembered Daddy

There was always a present for her Father; never one from Santa for Mom. As a kid, she never wondered why. As a parent, she figured it out.

By Johnnietta Jessie

When I was small at Christmas time I would hang my stocking in hopes that Santa would fill it with all kinds of goodies.

On Christmas morning I would grab that stocking first to see what all was in it.

Mom would always say "Owen, look and see what Santa left you".

Letter: Let's see how much we can GIVE

Rebecca Grant writes:
Christmas should be celebrated every day of the year. Give a smile, a hug, a kind word. These sometimes mean more than anything you could purchase. Let's start a "new old" movement. Let's go back to an old fashioned Christmas, where you attend church, celebrate the birth of Jesus, spend time with your family and friends. Instead of seeing how much we can "get" let's see how much we can "GIVE" without spending money we don't have anyway. Rebecca Grant
