Great to have Lauren Talley, all the other great achievers

Recognizing the Spirit of this Place with ACES A-team, Katie Melton, the ACHS Band, Lindsey Wilson College, and the Parade Saturday - proof that great things keep happening in Adair County!

Doug McCammish writes:
Yea, for Lauren Talley and all the others who compete! Isn't it great to have such smart and well-prepared young people in our community!

Great things continue to happen in Adair County and the people here continue to show that you don't have to be from a big city to achieve big things.

The award recently presented to Katie Melton is another example.

Add to that the continued, amazing success of the ACHS band, the growth of Lindsey Wilson College and the success of their first (modern day) football season, and of course the parade Saturday evening that shows the spirit of this place.

I know I left out many more things that have made Adair County a great place to call home. -Doug McCammish

A letter from Plum Point pastor, Rev. Lewis Haynes

About: Lewis Haynes recognized by alma mater, Campbellsville University with stories and photos by Linda Waggener, based in large part on a story in The Campbellsvillian

Rev. Lewis Haynes writes:
The people at Plum Point Church are just elated - thanks to you and Linda! The article in the Columbia Magazine with the pictures and mention of our Coffee Can Fund were wonderful. We have them framed and hanging in our fellowship hall.

And...the icing on the cake was the write-up in the Campbellsville College's magazine, "The Campbellsvillian," about us again with the Coffee Can Fund included. We made centerfold.

If anyone would like to help us with this great outreach program, initiated by David Mann, they can do so by using our address at:
Coffee Can Fund
c/o Plumpoint Baptist Church
6107 Knifley Road
Columbia, KY 42728
It ALL goes to help those in need and Christmas presents for children who wouldn't have a merry Christmas otherwise. We're in the process of Christmas shopping now for many of these children.

Thanks, again, Ed and Linda, we so appreciate all that you do. -Rev. Lewis Haynes
Thanks, Rev. Haynes. The day at Plum Point was especially memorable for us. Thank you for the invitation to the service, the hospitality, and the wonderful help from members of your congregation. Plum Point Baptist Church sets a wonderful example. -Ed

Columbia, KY, author makes special gift to Relay for Life

Darlene Franklin-Campbell is donating the royalties from her new book, "I Listened, Momma," to the Adair County chapter of Relay for Life.

Special contributed book review with CM Edits

When Darlene Franklin-Campbell heard her minister give a sermon entitled, "What is That in Your Hand?" she pondered the story of how God asked Moses that question as he stood at the burning bush. She says, "God had a plan for Moses' life, a plan that was more far-reaching than being a shepherd in the desert, a plan that had a deeper purpose than being the estranged son of Pharaoh's daughter. God's plan was to bring many people out of a bondage that they had become so accustomed to, that although they suffered greatly from it, they had come to accept as a way of life."
