Wayfaring Stranger takes issue with AG Conway crowing Very little is known of this Wayfaring Stranger except this: He doth write well, and his spelling is most excellent. He is a member of no organized political party; apparently he's a a Democrat - same as Conway - and the late Will Rogers Comments re: AG Jack Conway announces Do Not Call judgment Wayfaring Stranger writes: Editor Waggener:After having thrice read the "Conway announces Do Not Call judgment" article , this wayfaring stranger still cannot fathom about what Attorney General Conway doth so loudly crow. He pompously states that "This agreement should send a clear message that there are consequences for failing to follow our telemarketing laws" -- but the message sent really isn't so clear, to-wit:The calls were allowed to continue for just under six years (July '02 to April '08), and it then took two and a half years for the AG's office to obtain the consent judgment, which consists of nothing more than a promise by the violators they won't get caught again, and a reimbursement -- not a fine, but a *reimbursement,* for crying out loud! - in an amount which falls between petty cash and chump change. The Attorney General and I are both of the Rooster party, but Mr. Conway's self-aggrandized crowing would have been better made as accompaniment to an actual "sunrise" rather than a false dawn. 2010-11-24 11:18:55 | Comments | Printable version
