Joe Hare: Are veterans of other wars forgotten?

Grand Marshals of Christmas Parade should have represented all the wars, U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam War says

By Joe Hare, Vietnam Veteran
Personal commentary

I read earlier this week where the Chamber of Commerce was naming veterans as the Grand Marshals of the Christmas Parade. This sounded like a great idea, since we have no veterans program here in Adair County, except for the luncheon sponsored by Lindsey Wilson College. This year Lindsey had 175-180 people attend and it was greatly appreciated by the veterans.

Kentucky Color: Tears of Joy moment

Every Citizen of Adair County, Every Adair County Taxpayer can surely share in the glory the Band Program brings to South Central Kentucky
Click on headline for complete story, photos. For next earlier Kentucky Color: The Bradford Pear A Blight from the Orient but magnificent color, all the same

By Billy Joe Fudge
Retired Kentucky State Forestry Service District Forester

Once again the Adair County Marching Band has completed another masterful year competing against the most elite bands in Kentucky and the nation.

Besides being the best in Kentucky this year the band had Adair County, Kentucky up in lights last Saturday in Indianapolis on the biggest TV I've ever seen.

I think I can speak for everyone in attendance that to look up at that video screen and see children, grandchildren, kinfolk, friends, neighbors, and some of the hardest working young people in these parts was definitely a "tears of joy" moment.

Every citizen of Adair County who supports our band in any way including paying taxes should surely share in the glory that our band program brings to Adair County and South Central Kentucky. -Billy Joe Fudge

Adair Countian. Atlanta, GA

Despite all of the disasters, tragedies, illness, and downright evil that occur in this world every day, there is good in the world. When we see it, it should be recognized and applauded.

This is a follow-up story to one I submitted to Columbia Magazine in early June. It is a story applauding some special people, and one man in particular.
