Adair Co. Band takes 3rd Place in BoA Class A Division In appreciation of support from the community, parents, boosters, fans, and students, the Adair County Marching Band will perform a free encore of the 2010 show, StoryPeople, at 7pmCT, Monday, November 15, 2010, at the Adair County High School Football Field, 623 Indian DR, Columbia, KY. By Shamarie Claiborne The Adair County Marching Band placed third in the nation in the Class A Division of the Bands of America National competition at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN, on Saturday, November 13, 2010. The band was one of only 34 bands in all classes to perform in the semi-finals, and one of only two Kentucky bands to make the cut. The kids put on an absolutely outstanding, flawless show. We are all so proud of them. Driver injured in LBN single-vehicle accident Greg Thomas treated at Westlake Regional Hospital and airlifted to UofL Hospital By TFC William Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY Adair Co., KY - Trooper Bryan Shepard is investigating a collision that occurred Friday night, November 12, 2010, at approximately 11pmCT. Gregory S. Thomas, age 50, of Columbia, KY, was traveling East on the Louie B. Nunn/Cumberland Parkway operating a 2004 Cadillac. Thomas fell asleep, causing him to lose control of his vehicle and strike a road sign before coming to rest in the median. Thomas, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported by Adair County EMS to Westlake Regional Hospital and airlifted to UofL Hospital for treatment. Trooper Shepard was assisted at the scene by Trooper John Barnett and the Adair County EMS. The accident continues to be under investigation. One injured as vehicle crashes swerving to avoid collision By TFC William Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY Marion Co., KY - Trooper Chris Saunders is working a collision that occurred at 6:05pmET, 1 mile West of Lebanon, KY, on Miller Pike. The collision occurred when a 2000 Toyota, operated by Nicholas Blandford, age 53, of Lebanon, KY, was traveling Eastbound on Miller Pike. Blandford observed a vehicle backing into his path on Miller Pike and in an attempt to avoid colliding with the vehicle, applied his brakes and swerved. This caused the Blandford vehicle to leave the roadway and overturn several times before coming to final rest against a tree.
