Wild chase ends with crash at Class D facility

A U-turn on Jamestown ST. A pursuit. A flight after vehicle stops. A dramatic passing attempt and crash near revival service at jail facility. A flight on foot ends with driver tasered, taken to Adair Regional Jail. Almost miraculously, no one was hurt.

Around 6pmCT, Wednesday, October 20, 2010 - As Columbia Police officers Kevin Atwood and Brad Scholl were exiting the Square onto Jamestown ST, a small 2001 Kia 4-door car immediately in front of them made a U-turn at Reed Street, and the officers did too.

City cat, frightened by stray dog, is missing. Missed!

Very friendly, large orange male tabby lost on Melson Ridge near the intersection of Hwy. 900 and Melson Ridge RD. Disappeared Tuesday night (10/19) after being chased by stray dog. This re-located city cat, totally unused to the woods, is sorely missed. Please call (270) 378-3197.

Fischbach to make nearly $8.7 million investment in E-town plant

Frankfort, KY - Gov. Steve Beshear today announced Fischbach USA, a world leader in supplying plastic packaging to sealant and adhesive customers, will invest nearly $8.7 million in its Elizabethtown plant.

The project, which was aided by a state incentive program encouraging companies to reinvest in Kentucky facilities, will result in increased facility capacity and efficiency, allowing the company to remain competitive and maintain its 76 employees. The investment will also entail the addition of a new food packaging product line.

Dr. Ann Millin, historian and special assistant to the director of the leadership programs in the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's National Institute for Holocaust Education in Washington, D.C., discussed how Hitler used propaganda during his reign in Germany at a Kentucky Heartland Institute on Public Policy (KHIPP) event October 12, 2010 at Campbellsville University.

Wife arrested, charged in Taylor Co., KY, death

Tonya Ford charged with Murder-Domestic Violence 617 days after the February 10, 2009, death of her Lebanon Police Officer-husband, David M. Ford, at their home in the northern part of Taylor Co., near Saloma, KY. Tonya Ford was lodged in Taylor County Jail on $30,000 cash bond.
