About: Charles Marshburn thinks CM needs a Restaurants Review

By the COF

After perusing your screed in response to "The Tractor Man" I've done concluded that it wuz his double negative (healthy, healthy) that caused ya ta back off his request to offer up yore opine on the local culinary establishments. 'specially given the All-American breakfasts you endured as a youngun.

That said, I seem to disremember a previous request from the re-locatee 'bout how ta locate a decent cabinet-maker. Seems like the suggestioner ain't larned yet to get offen his tractor an palaver with the locals. Seems like they could offer all one needed to know 'bout victuals, pablum and comestibles as well as the atmospherics conducive to convivial consumption.

About: Historic Adair Co Courthouse Clocktower Autumn 2010

To Margaret Varble

Great picture of the historic courthouse. I never tire of seeing the symbol of my hometown as it stands proudly during changing seasons, time of day and night. It seems to connect the present day with the historic past in a very elegant, yet dignified way.

Bonnie Goodin is such an inspiration

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

Bonnie Goodin was 94 years old on October 17, 2010. She is such an inspiration to all who know and love her, as I do.

She is the mother of Carol Goodin Parker and the late Homer Goodin. She is my "second mother." Her family and mine are kin through the Goodin side. I grew up with Carol and Homer - going to school at the two-room school of Smiley at "Goodin's Crossroads" on Hwy 206; and later I was in the Adair County High School, with Homer. We both graduated with the class of '58.s/Jenny Kimbler Burkett

Adair Co., KY Population: 3-minute history course

Facts, plus the Big Question: Will Adair Co., KY, have record population when the U.S. Census sends report?
Click on headline for full story, population chart, 1810-2000

By Charles Marshburn

I was reading about the census in Adair County and noticed that the population in 1880 and 1970 were almost identical. Pretty good drop in population between 1950 and 1970. Greatest population in 1940. There must be a local historian with facts about these facts. Charles Marshburn

Thanks. Everyone is anxiously awaiting the 2010 census figures.
