2010-10-11 - Photo by Jackie Wheeler. Branson West, MO

"Just thought you'd like to see this picture I took this morning, October 11, 2010, on the Ozark Mountain High Road near Branson, Missouri," writes Jackie Wheeler, who now lives in Branson West, MO, but is and always will be an Adair County, Kentuckian. "It's a Momma wildcat. She and her baby were crossing the road and her baby didn't make it. She was trying to get her baby off the road. She wouldn't leave her, so I went back and took a picture and moved her baby off the road closer to its mother; hopefully she made it."

COF is het up at Bobby D. Morrison

He implies that Bobby D. Morrison is From Off. Taunts Bobby D. Morrison as perhaps too casual about the Person with a Ponytail, photographically proven to have been on the nigh plumb right corner of the Rockhouse, as seen in The Rockhouse and Doodlebug Holes
Read whole story to see how I unequivocally agree with the COF and with Bobby D. Morrison's findings -ED

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

Mr. Morrison comments: "...not a real person.."

NOT a REAL person! (Yes I'm a shoutin')!

I suppose there ain't none such as Doodle Bugs and Nancy Bass doesn't hang 'round Spurlington Tunnel, neither.

This fella must be from "off" or certainly never matriculated from KU's round table of all useful knowledge.

Many at Moores say Saturday crowd biggest ever

The Mayor of Columbia, KY, the honorable Patrick R. Bell, himself, reports it. Raising the question: What have been the 10 largest events, in terms of attendance, in the History of Adair County? It is weighty issue to put before a brain-weary public already overwhelmed with issues of Doodlebugrism, helping resolve authenticity of the Russell County apparition, and lately,a question of New Testament proportions, "Who is thy neighbor, who is From Off and therefore not subject to or worthy of, all the implications of the Parable of the Good Samaritan?" and the lesser cohort, "How Far Off is From Off?" But that's how life is sometimes. We have to confront it as it happens.

By Ed Waggener

Just when we thought Gail King would be the winner of the crowd estimate, there appears to be two others who are tied for the best estimate of the crowd in Columbia on Saturday night, October 9, 2010 to hear Sammy Capshaw.

Russell Co. Duck, swimming away: a Muscovy

About: Birds of Kentucky: Russell Co. Duck swimming away

By Billy Joe Fudge

Muscovy duck is their real name. But they are sometimes referred to as "Durkeys," because of the red head.

It has been said that a Muscovy can produce 2 pounds of droppings for every pound of food eaten. From this somewhat exaggerated saying one might be able to guess the local name to which they are most often referred, _ _ _ _ Duck. -BJF

Jim thinks Creelsboro figure looks like Horse Feldhaus

About That photo that girl who grew up in Albany, KY, sent and steered up so much with

Ed,

I trust everyone (except poor R.A.C. Martin) survived Downtown Days.

Your comment re the figure in the Rock House photo elicited out-loud laughter from up here north of the Green River, but I looked closer and decided the arms aren't long enough to be Big Ralph's - but it might be the one and only Allen "Horse" Feldhaus.

Wanted to make sure you received the "100 years ago" column sent yesterday.

s/jim

Thanks. We just look through the envelopes and find that there is a "100 Years Ago." T'other missive of yours was "81 Years Ago." That's posted and was a dandy and has already drawn critical acclaim from California, but that's not yet posted either. In the interest of science, I'm hoping that you won't try to steer things up further by mentioning Allen "Horse" Feldhaus, a near hoops deity in Russell County, I understand. 100 years ago, Oct. 12, 1910, will Cybercast on CM, directly. -EW
