E.H. Lepiarczyk postulates that Sano straddles border About: 100 Years Ago A bonus a blessing from Sano by "Jim" By E.H. Lepiarczyk II It is my understanding that the Sano community straddles the border of Adair and Russell Counties. The community of Sano is in both counties! The Free Union Separate Baptist Church is located in the proximity of Sano, Adair County. My grandfather and grandmother, Daniel Marion Grider (1888-1949) and Effie Burton Grider (1896-1987), were united in marriage by the minister, Junius Otis Wolford (1883-1971) at Sano, Adair County. I believe that Junius Otis Wolford was the minister at Free Union Separate Baptist Church. Junius' father, George Milton Wolford (1845-1929), is my grandfather's half-first cousin. After their marrige, my grandfather and grandmother lived in the Concord community, near Garlin and Craycraft, of Adair County. 2010-09-29 12:35:02 | Comments | Printable version

Thanks for including street numbers with events, stories Our thanks to everyone for sending Events announcements with street numbers and addresses. The response to this request, which has been the major factor in making CM Events a daily newspaper in itself, has been nothing short of overwhelming. It's a courtesy to CM readers which, cumulatively, can save hundreds, even thousands, of hours of otherwise wasted time searching for venues. Qualifying events on ColumbiaMagazine.com are posted with a minimum 5-part Publicity Package which, if charged at commercial rates, would cost $38.85 - and up. We do accept events notices without the street number and address as advertising, posted at our very low rates. If you have recently sent an announcement which has not been posted, it may be that essential information is missing and that you did not include contact information - a return email address or a phone number. -CM 2010-09-29 05:10:38 | Comments | Printable version

Friendly lost dog spotted in Taylor Ford RD area, Adair Co., Ky By Telissa Moore A dog has wandered into our neighborhood, 1.5 miles or so on Taylor Ford Road off Liberty Road and 531 area in Adair County, KY. He may have possibly came from the Jr. Burton road area. He appears to be friendly, but has no collar on. He is brindle with a white face. I think he looks as if he has some bull dog in him or may even be a bull dog. This picture was taken earlier today September 28, 2010 by Katelyn Moore, my daughter. I would like to see the dog reunited with its owner. Although, I can not guarantee the where abouts of the dog by now, I may be reached at (250) 634-7541. Telissa Moore (270) 634-3666.
