Tiger Women Golfers finish fifth at Crooked Creek

CU is 7th at Bill Sergent Invitational. Lindsey Wilson finishes 2nd, moving up from seventh with Friday's strongest play. Lee University wins by just two strokes. Tanner Moberly led Tigers with an even par, 72. Tigers next at Dale Hollow in MSC Fall Tournament play.

Campbellsville University men's golf showed improvement Friday in the final round of the Bill Sergent Invitational at Crooked Creek Golf Course. The Tigers shaved nine strokes off their score from the previous day to shoot 298 as a team for the third lowest round Friday fifth lowest of the tournament.

However, the 298 was coupled with a Thursday score of 307 to give Campbellsville a fifth-place finish after sitting in ninth Thursday evening.

Campbellsville knocks off No. 23 Indiana Tech

Campbellsville University's returning leading scorer Ramiro Sanchez made his 2010 debut Friday night in Fort Wayne, IN, and picked up right where he left off. The Columbian sophomore netted a goal and collected an assist as the Tigers knocked off No. 23 Indiana Tech, 3-1, in the NAIA Showcase at the University of St. Francis (IN).

"Ramiro adds so much to the attack," CU head coach Adam Preston said. "He's so powerful and he opens things up for Jamie (Allen)."
