Trooper John Barnett is investigating a collision that occurred at 6pmCT, Friday, August 27, 2010, on KY Hwy 206, 6 miles west of Dunnville. Joshua Coggins, 23 years of age of Dunnville, KY was operating a 1991 Chevrolet, westbound on KY Hwy 206, when his vehicle dropped off the right shoulder of the roadway.

2010 Address Marker campaign off to a good start

The 2010 Address Marker campaign is off to a great start, FFA Adviser Kirby Hancock said.

Already, a total of 68 have been sold, with the largest number, 23 arriving today. "That's really good," he said, "when you consider that we didn't start until Monday (August 23) of this week."

She was a member of a large, respected, East Adair Co., KY family.She was a member of the Freedom Separate Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Florene Green age 85 years of 4132 Sano RD, Columbia, KY passed away Friday, August 27, 2010 at 5:30 AM at Summit Manor Heath and Rehab Center in Columbia, KY after an illness.

The funeral servicec will be Sunday, August 29, 2010 at 2pmCT at Freedom Separate Baptist Church, 576 Freedom Church RD, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Jim Goff and Bro. Ronnie Campbell the officiating clergy. Interment in the Freedom Cemetery. The family request visiting after 3pmCT on Saturday, August 28, 2010, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, and after 1:00 PM Sunday at the church.

Cumberland Co. High School FFA now selling Address markers

Reflective Address Markers being marketed by Burkesville, KY school

The FFA Chapter of Cumberland County High School is now selling Address Markers. So far, advisor Lanny Willen said, they've just got started, but the chapter hopes to sell 1,000 markers the first year. Already, he said, 10 of the markers have been sold. More information will be posted online, here, later and will be in the Cumberland County News,, Burkesville, KY, and on radio station WKYR, 107.9 FM.

Santos is a 2001 graduate of Campbellsville University. He received his Master of Arts in Music degree in December 2001.

Santos will perform a voice concert featuring hymn arrangements and Brazilian songs with works by Handel, Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Verdi and Dubois.

The JV Indians continued their winning ways Wednesday afternoon, August 25, 2010, with 2 very convincing wins vs. Taylor County and Campbellsville.

The young Indians fired a team score of (174) to best Taylor's (197) and Campbellsville's (212). The Indians were led by Trey Garmon's and Jerrod Grider's pair of 42's. Blake Maupin's (45), Easton Ellis's (45), Tanner Garmon's (46), and Austin Cundiff's (46) rounded out the tribe's scorecard.

What else can I say, the results speak for themselves. These young men just keep getting better and better. Every time they tee it up they expect to win. I couldn't be any prouder of them, stated Coach Steve Burton.

The JV Indians record now stands at an unbeaten clip of 7 wins and 0 losses for the year.

Frankfort KY -Picking the right entry and exit route to your treestand or ground blind might be more important to success in deer hunting than where you actually hunt.

"I'd much rather hunt a marginal stand location, where bucks don't know they're being hunted," said Bill Winke, who gave a deer hunting seminar at the recent Quality Deer Management Association national convention in Louisville. "I'm scouting for hidden access routes. Good deer sign is easy to find."

Pulaski Co. Tournament scores finally official

Ashley Goodin's 78 is good for 6th place out of 95 golfers at the meet

The scores are finally official from the Pulaski Co. Tournament held on August 14, 2010.

Adair County did not post a team score because a total of four players must finish and one of the girls became ill. Ashley Goodin fired a 78 which was her career tournament low. This allowed her to tie for 6th place out of approximately 95 golfers.
