The abundance of fresh from the farm produce is really good this morning. We're into the season when it's a good time for buying for canning.

Most of the gang are here today, and we've saved a spot for Jeff Scott and Boss Blair in case they make it. Already, a nice crowd of Early Bird shoppers are here, and we're expecting more local restaurants to be here early this morning, too. We appreciate them. Bet their customers appreciate the fresh taste, too.

News from Adair County Girls Golf

We came away with a win this afternoon by defeating Washington County by 5 strokes. Ashley Goodin led the way with a 40, Emilee Royse 44, Abby Royse 55, and 7th grader Jessica Simpson shot a 68.

Rachel Phipps did not play due to illness.

Adair County shot a 207 to Washington Co. 212.

I am pleased with a win. I was concerned with Rachel out but our kids hung in there and Jessica did well considering it was her first ever competitive golf event. Ashley, Emilee, and Abby have been pretty steady in all events we've had so far.

We go to Rosewood Golf & Country Club, 612 Fairway DR, Lebanon, KY, Tuesday, August 17, 2010, to play Marion County.

This is also going to be the site for the Heartland Conference Tournament so it gives us a chance to be on the course prior to the tournament.

We will have to play well this year to compete. -Kim Goodin
