More Lights, more Parking in Village of Hardscratch

]Friday night Fish Fry goers at Hardscratch General Store may be a bit startled at the new look. There will likely be lights on in the new Hardscratch General Store Annex across the road from the main store at 7289 Hwy 55 South Road, Columbia, KY, and maybe a bit of bang clanging.

Ken Hill has now leased the building, and is transforming into a space for two local businesses: an adjunct to the General Store on the right hand side, and, on the other, as a location for Paul Holland's window tinting and sign business. "Paul is one of the best sign painters in Adair County," Ken Hill said, "He's needed more space and a more prominent place on the highway, and this is it.

    Great Time Controversy:
Leave it alone; everything cannot be perfect

About: Great Time Controversy All of KY should be on same time

    To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

My wife and I both work on eastern time jobs and we even go to church on eastern time. I see no need to change the time zone though. We are used to it and are aware of the location of the time zone lines.

The only way to totally eliminate the problem is for the whole world to be on the same time. That would really throw a wrench in the works wouldn't it?Some one will always have to be inconvenienced by the time zones. If we were to move the zone line to Metcalfe Co. then they would have to deal with it. My point is sometimes we can't have everything perfect. We will have some inconveniences in life and the time zone may be one of those. Well wishes to all, in both time zones.

    s/Mark Hale
