Mark Merritt, a Burger King franchisee from Somerset, KY, was present when the sign was erected. "This Burger King is one of a new design," Walker said. "It will be the third one in all of the United States with this plan," and added, "we don't do anything in Holladay Place which is not first class, not the best of its kind." The new restaurant is the fifth building at the super center. First to open was the Five Star Store, then the huge Columbia Walmart, then Duo-County Telecom. A Goodwill store is under construction. And now, the new Burger King will be the fifth development. Walker would not say when the Burger King will be open for business.
