Escapee is now back in custody, without incident The Columbia Police officers and officers from the Adair County Sheriff's Department responded to the Adair County Regional Jail at 3:53pmCT, Sunday, January 31, 2010, when an inmate being transported by Russell County Jail deputies escaped from their custody outside the jail. According to Columbia Police Chief Mark Harris, Tyler Baker, 19, led the Russell County Jail deputy on a brief foot chase. Baker then received a ride from a motorist and was taken to McDonald's. He was taken into custody without incident and was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail. Baker was charged with escape, 3rd degree.
