Remembering an Adair Co. Hero: William Coy Turner

"In memory of William Coy Turner's Birthday, February 14; He gave his life in Vietnam for our Freedom" - Margaret Feese
See also, Wm. Coy Turner will always be hero to 'us Turners'

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

Everyone's birthday should be recognized, and especially those who have served this nation in the armed forces, and given their life for the freedom we enjoy today and everyday. He has (William Coy Turner) been on my mind a lot these days. We've recently found some of his friends from Vietnam, and are looking forward to meeting them. Being informed of the stories they know about him has given me much enjoyment, just knowing he was as great a person in Vietnam as he was around home.

s/Margaret FeeseThanks. The In Memory Birthday is posted. William Coy Turner is a revered Adair County Hero. -EW

Countdown to Great Backyard Bird Count, Feb. 12-15, 2010 is on! 29 DAYS TO GBBC

Birds of Kentucky: American Robin

Pen took this photo in Columbia in March, 2008, of a Robin in its more familiar time and habitat. Years ago, Robins were considered harbingers of spring. Now we are more aware that they are here all year long, just a little less evident except in their holly tree berry stealing mode, as in today's Kentucky Color by Billy Joe Fudge. There are a number great robin pictures on ColumbiaMagazine.com, including "Robin from egg to first flight," by Shirly Smith Mings. Just enter "Robin" in the search box to see the links.
