It's Just Me No. 20, A work of art A column inspired by hearing Christmas music first at by finest musicians in Houston at the mega-church Tallowood Baptist, then hearing the the music which touched him most, that of a seven-year old violinist in tiny New Harmony Baptist church in Oklahoma.

The title of this writing suggests, something produced by the hands of a skilled artisan with hints of divine inspiration.

Connie and I were transferred to Houston with Phillips Petroleum Company late in my working years. It was 1982.

Fish & Wildlife officers rescue bear hunter

No bears taken in 2 day bear hunt. Dozer needed to rescue diabetic bear hunter

From KY Fish & Wildlife

FRANKFORT, KY - For Captain Frank Campbell and his southeastern Kentucky conservation officers of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, 2009 is nearing its close in much the same way it began - rescuing people, clearing downed trees from roads and checking on the welfare of many who lost electrical power because of winter storms.

On Friday, December 18, two days before the official first day of winter, a major storm system began dumping heavy snow over much of central and east Kentucky. Up to 20 inches of snow broke trees, closed roads, stranded motorists, damaged homes and property and caused power outages to approximately 106,000 Kentuckians.

Appreciation for Charles and Nadine Giles years of service

A tribute to long time G & G Motors owners Charles and Nadine Giles
By Sammy Baker

I just wanted to send out a note of appreciation to Charles Giles, for all the years of dedication, service, and never-ending hospitality to all of his customers in Adair and surrounding counties. Adair County has seen its share of fine businessmen, but Charles Giles is in a league of his own.

In all my many years as a vocational agriculture teacher at Adair County High School he was always willing to help both physically and financially when he was called upon. Children, parents, farmers, and citizens alike will never forget the true dedication that Charles and his wife, Nadine, have shown to this community. We wish them the very best.

The Christmas Story

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone around about them: And they were sore afraid . . .

And the angel said unto them, Fear not, for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Luke 2: 8-14
