By Terry Partin

When I heard the announcement this morning that Glyn England is retiring from the Adair County School System, it brought back memories of when my children attended Sparksville Grade Center.

I was always impressed with the quality of Glyn's work, the pride he exhibited in carrying out his duties, and the professional, courteous manner that was his trademark.

Enjoy Your retirement Glyn. Job well done. -Terry Partin

Christmas Memories during the 60's and 70's

Columbia Christmases then - Hard rock candy, a cedar Christmas Tree, the Square as the center of everything, Bill Beard looking after you, making sure you were safe, Ben Franklin and Western Auto, all the store windows decorated, Christmas carols from the Baptist Church - it was a wonderful life the author hasn't yet found how to bring back.
