Anonymous reader wants to know if tax will go away The following notes, both signed "JR" were received. There are some wild misunderstandings in his statement, such as stating the tax as being 5.6%. IT IS NOT. It is 1/100th of that amount. But it is the one of the misunderstandings about the tax which is being circulated. -EW "I want everyone to be aware what this will really cost you. The radio ad is saying it will cost the average tax payer $20.00 a year. That is simply not true. That means that the average property value is only about 35,000.00. To figure what you will pay anually take your home value and multiply that by .0056.The idea stated that taxes never go away has an element of truth in it. Most taxes don't go away. But many do.
