The Adair Co. Garden Club decorates Green Christmas tree

Christmas is for the birds...too

By Barbara Armitage, President, Adair Co. Garden Club

The locally grown cedar tree was cut and delivered by Ron Heath with the Chamber of Commerce with the help of Roger Coffey from the City of Columbia making it truly the "greenest" tree available. Decorations were provided by the Adair County Garden Club.

This year's tree is truly for the birds. Decorated with garlands of popcorn and cranberries and ornaments of homemade suet and birdseed this tree is a Christmas buffet for our fine feathered friends. Be sure to be there for the lighting of the Christmas tree at 5:00 on Saturday during the Christmas in Columbia celebrations.

Only 3 people he has talked to are against the issue

About: It's Just for a Smile News backs new Casey School

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

I have a long term relation and respect for Ralph and maybe sometimes had some question on his logic. However, I think he is right on for this issue to provide the opportunity to improve the facilities for our student to improve their capability to compete in the Global Economy.

With the information presented any logical person would see the need and make the decision to support the effort to improve the school system and better prepare our students.

Of the many people I have talked to only 3 have been against the issue. Most people have seen the need and support the pennies extra tax. However, the main challenge is that people go to vote their decision on Dec, 15 because this is a special election and many people have the mindset it will pass and will not go to vote.

I caught up on Columbia Magazine today after my trip and read that there was a simular issue 101 years ago and the citizens make the right decision, hopefully we will do so on December 15.

s/Bobby D. Morrison
