KSP arrests two Washington Co., KY deputies Two face multiple charges related to drug trafficking. Post 15, Columbia, KY, takes part in action, along with KSP Drug Enforcement Unit, and Springfield, KY, Police Department. Report courtesy TFC William Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY On November 12, 2009 units from Kentucky State Police West Drug Enforcement, Kentucky State Police Drug Task Force, Kentucky State Police Post 15 - Columbia, Kentucky State Police Special Response Team, and Springfield Police Department conducted a covert drug trafficking operation involving two Washington County Sheriff's Deputies. Arrested were Deputy Wayne Bartley, a 6 year veteran, and Deputy Billy Mattingly, a 3 year veteran of the Washington County Sheriff's Department. Both officers are charged with Official Misconduct, Trafficking in Marijuana, Theft by Unlawful Taking Over $300, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Criminal Mischief. Both were lodged in the Marion County Detention Center. To anonymously report any type of suspected illegal drug activity, citizens can call the KSP toll-free drug tip hotline, 1-800-DOPETIP. Putting the school tax in perspective About: The difference $21 per person per year can make To ColumbiaMagazine.com: OK, Ed, here is my $21.00 This is much better than the $200.00 I will be paying if the tax passes. s/Wayne OK, under $21 "average" per person in Adair County. We were just putting the amount in perspective. Some the added cost of the tax to the cost of two large pizzas a year. In any case, it does seem to be a pittance for the return on local investment. If you'll be paying $200 extra, you should be able to afford $200, since your assessment would be about $400,000 to pay that much in additional tax for the kids.
