Versailles Castle/Martin Castle now Castle Post

About: Versailles CastleMartin Castle photo by Lawrence Hamilton

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

Great picture of the castle. It is now owned by Tom Post and is named Castle Post. It is listed as a bed and breakfast, but is much more. The facility is available for special events, weddings, etc. A few weeks ago Ann Todd Jeffries Houlihan and I had lunch there. It was a special event hosted by the Susan B. Konan Cancer Research group. It is a unique spot. I enjoyed the picture.

Wayne Armitage: Taxation without representation

About: Spend a Nickel: Ralph Waggener's personal opinion on school tax

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

My only concern it that this is taxation without representation. I think that we should be able to vote on the tax issue. I think that the school board tried to sneak in in on us. I look at my bills and everything from the electric bill to the phone and water have a school tax on it. Our homes are taxed for schools and to add another 56.00 per 100,000 to the already high tax is wrong without a vote. We already pay more in school tax than most other counties. I am not against better schools and education. I am for better ways to spend the money we already have. Heaven only knows that our children need to be better educated. Thanks for listening.
