Caleb the Rottweiler needs a good country home

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

I have a 6 1/2 year old male Rottweiler who needs to go to a good country home. We have had him since birth (and his parents since they were 6 and 7 weeks old, until they passed away), but unfortunately we are not able to take him with us due to moving to the city.

I have never seen him agressive. but he does seem to prefer women to men. His name is Caleb and he just needs a loving person with a loving hand to give him a good home.

About: Larry Smith Photo Closed Berry Bridge, Greensburg, KY

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

A few years ago on a canoe trip I passed under this old abandon bridge and took a couple of pictures of it. At the time I wondered about it and why it was still standing, very peaceful and as though time had forgotten this bridge.

Thanks. Hope you'll share our version of the bridge -EW

Thanks for your help with Celebrations list

Thanks to everyone for helping to keep the Celebrations listings up to date. Celebrations is now a much easier listing to use as a reminder to send a gift, a birthday card, or just to remember to wish a friend happy birthday.

Thanks for your help in eliminating duplications. There should be only one listing for any one person. The date in parenthesis is the date of the person's birth. In the case of In Memory Birthday's, we've tried to provide links to obituaries or a ColumbiaMagazine.com story in archives.

Celebrations is no longer a place for personal messages. Those can still be posted, but they are in a paid classifications, Personals, in CM classifieds. The listings are for persons living in Adair, Casey, Cumberland, Green, Metcalfe, Russell and Taylor Counties, or who have close ties to these Kentucky Counties.

To submit a birthday, use an Contact/Submit button. Be sure to include contact information: an email, phone number. This is not for publication, but is needed just in case we need to clarify the information submitted. Thanks. EW

Would like to see 1908 photo of Green Co, KY bridge posted

About: Larry Smith Photo Closed Berry Bridge

ColumbiaMagazine.com has received the following request:
I found the more recent bridge photo and wish someone would reprint the 1908 photo. My father was able to identify some of the people, but I would love to know who some of the others were. I have a photocopy of the photo that my half-brother was able to name people that Daddy identified. Somewhere, I have a photo of Daddy standing near the bridge somewhere around 1980? Chris Bennett Explores: Frankfort, KY

A routine business trip to the State Capitol turns out to be anything but routine for the traveler from Fairplay, who finds good food, world class architecture, a connection with a great Adair County history teacher, a river trip idea, and has an epiphany: A realization that he would hate to see Adair County's Old Courthouse auctioned on e-Bay, or, from his Southern perspective, suffer an even worse fate!

Lost dog found; may have run with coyotes for night

Reward offered in case of lost German shepherd

To ColumbiaMagazine.com,

We found the dog. Ricky, my brother, had made contact with all the local neighbors and left phone number. One of them, 6 miles away called with a dog that showed-up. She had been gone for one day and night. We think that she actually ran with the coyotes during the night. Anyway, thanks so much for putting this on Columbia Magazine. God Bless,
