LWC Women's Soccer deals William Carey 1st loss of the season

COLUMBIA, KY - In a battle of top-5 teams, second ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer fared better in every phase of the game with a 3-1 win against fifth ranked William Carey (MS) University Friday, October 2, 2009, at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. The Blue Raiders attempted double the shots of the previously undefeated Crusaders (14-7), collected an advantage in saves (5-4) and tallied a 2-to-1 assist advantage on three goals.

Students and family members alike enjoyed Grandparents Week at Col. Wm. Casey Elementary School. The week of September 28-October 2, 2009 was set aside at the school to honor Grandparents and Grandpersons in our students lives. Thanks to the over 250 adults who joined us for lunch. She was a member of a large, respected Taylor Co., KY family, and leaves 47 living descendants. She was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom

The funeral services will be held at 11:00amET, Saturday, October 3, 2009, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Alan Witham and Rev. Carlis Compton. Black Gum was a favorite tree of our forefathers often referred to as the most beautiful tree in the woods.

The leaf colors are waxy, very thick and these leaves are showing the scars of a long hard summer of converting sunlight, water and nutrients into sugars for storage over the winter.

Remembering Mr. Gorden Stargel: A very caring person

I saw Mr. Stargel's obituary i wanted to comment on remembering him. When I was in Cane Valley School he was my bus driver. I remember him as a very nice person, very caring. My sisters and I really liked him.When we get together and talk about our childhood days we always talk about what a great bus driver he was. God Bless you, Mr. Stargel.
