Adair Marching Band scores are posted from Eagle Classic

The scores from Eagle Classic held the September 19, 2009, at Eastern High School in Louisville, KY, are now posted at Kyband.com.

The Adair County High School Band received the highest rating of all bands in the preliminary performance with 12 bands competing, but was very slightly edged by by Williamstown High School in the finals.

2nd Annual CROP Hunger Walk will be Sat., Nov. 14, 2009

Columbia;s 2nd Annual CROP Hunger Walk will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2009, starting at 10:30amCT. The location is yet to be determined and will be announced later.

CROP Hunger Walk is a national event to raise awareness of poverty issues, and to raise money for local and global hunger relief. The local CROP Hunger Walk is being planned by Lindsey Wilson College students as a service-learning project for the Communication for Social Change course.

The Shelbyville, KY., native received her second consecutive weekly award after stopping eight shots in a 0-0 tie with eighth ranked Martin Methodist (TN) College on September 18, 2009.

Lightning puts halt to ACHS Girls Golf vs. Barren, Sept. 21, 2009

The girls' golf team's match vs. Barren County High School at Barren River State Park on Monday, September 21, 2009, was stopped after the completion of five holes due to lightning.

Play cannot resume until 30 minutes after the last lightning strike. Due to potential darkness as well, play could not be completed.
