The Mark Twain Festival: Weeks of preparation needed

About: Wants to know more about Mark Twain Festival

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

I'm not sure of any article about the history, but I do know that it has been going on about every year since at least 1980. In the mid-90's it went from a full blown band competition to an exhibition only due to rule changes in KMEA. There, for the most part, has almost always been a decent showing of bands to this event. It is generally an evening show, but the parents, boosters, and students spend days, even weeks, getting ready for it. If you have never been to it, it would be well worth going to see it and support the many band students that will either come from other schools as well as the local students.
