ACHS Girls Golf team next in KY Invitational at Lakewood CC

The Adair County Girls' Golf gave up two at Russell Co. making them 4-4 on the season. Russell Co. shot a 155, Pulaski Co. a 176 to Adair's 181. Adair placed everyone in the 40's or under once again but wasn't enough against two very good teams out of the 9th region.

"The only consolation is they are not in our region." Coach Kim Goodin said. "I feel like we are so capable but I'm not sure the girls' are as convinced as I am. They need to step up and get it done."

Adair was led by Freshman Ashley Goodin with a 39, followed by Natalie Sneed 47, Natalie Curry 47, Dea Brandon 48, Emilee Royse 49.

Next up for Adair is the Kentucky Invitational Tournament this weekend at Lakewood Country Club. The same site as today's match. This is a big tournament because some of the best teams and individual players in the state are there. Lakewood Country Club, 4214 Highway 379. Russell Springs, KY 42642. Tee time will be 8:00 amCT

Thinks going for Lowe's Garden Grant a great idea

About: Lowe's offers grants to schools to establish gardens

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

The garden at the school is a great idea. If parents would get behind that as well as they get behind athletics and the band (which is certainly a good thing to do--I'm all for parental support of athletics and the band) we could have a great garden and students could be involved in both growing the healthy food and eating it. FFA and 4-H could also be involved.

Something's missing at the Trabue House.

Time in a garden is marked not by minutes and seconds but by the movement of the sun. Sunflowers will look each morning to the east to greet the rising sun their faces slowly turning - basking in the warmth of this bright star throughout the day.
