Gov. Beshear publicly signs historic preservation incentives bill From Commonwealth News Center BOWLING GREEN, KY - Standing before an historic preservation project in Bowling Green, Gov. Steve Beshear took part in a bill signing ceremony for House Bill 3, which includes added incentives for historic preservation in Kentucky. "This legislation will encourage citizens, businesses and local governments to continue to work to preserve Kentucky's great history," Gov. Beshear said. "We want to help Kentucky communities and businesses use historic structures so we can keep our downtowns vibrant while at the same time preserving the past." The legislation brought about changes to the Kentucky Historic Preservation Tax Credit Program, which is administered by the Kentucky Heritage Council/State Historic Preservation Office. The key change was increasing the cap on tax credits the program offers from $3 million to $5 million a year. Obituary: Sharon Willis Greer, 60, Knifley, KY Sharon Willis Greer was a beloved community leader, a member of a large, highly respected North Adair County family. She was a member of Barnett's Creek United Methodist Church and held many leadership roles in the church. She was a lightling consultant for many years with Jeffries Hardware in Columbia, and was a founding member of the Janice Holt Giles Foundation. Columbia Police arrest 2 in early Tues., July 14, 2009 burglary Pair charged with taking cigarettes valued at over $2,000, undertermined amount of cash; both lodged in AC Regional Jail Special ColumbiaMagazine.com story Early this morning, Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at approximately 4:40amCT, Columbia Police responded to a burglary in progress at the Tobacco Discount Stoe at 899 Campbellsville RD and as a result, arrested Jonathan Morris, 30, Columbia, KY, and Bobby Bunch, 34, Jamestown, KY. When the police had gotten to the scene, one of the men was taken into custody, the other was soon located within the the store, police say. He had at first refused to exit, but shortly afterward was taken into custody without incident. Ed Howard is the third writer. Henry Haggard and Robert Brock divide up citizens of Tuna, Texas, the third smallest town in the state, each portraying about ten characters.
