He might. But don't fault him if he won't. It's probably hidden away, protected with tanks and missiles. It appears to be a pretty valuable receipt, you don't mind us saying so. -EW

Kittens in a haystack

2009-07-09 - Adiar Co., KY - Photo by Jennifer Crawhorn.
"Ever heard the expression 'Like finding a needle in a haystack'? Well, that's what it was like finding these little guys," writes Jennifer Crawhorn. "They hadn't opened their eyes yet. So I figured they were fairly young. They were tucked away in the hay in the barn. When I went back to check on them today they were gone. So I figured their momma had other plans than for me getting any more pictures of her precious babies." ColumbiaMagazine.com Group at Flickr

Signage for KY 61 needs improving

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

For some reason the state has not routed KY 61 traffic onto the By-pass. That is part of the problem. We need a business KY 61 just like we have for KY 55.

Adair Co. 910 All Stars District 5 Championship Game 2

By Greg Scott

In what could best be described as a less than perfect showing, the Adair County 9/10 All Stars secured their second District 5 Tournament win, 8-7 over the team from Marion County, after squandering a comfortable four run lead on a rash of errors in the top of the sixth inning on Wednesday night.

The energy level was low and the mistake level was high for the Adair All Stars leading to speculation among coaches and fans that late nights at the county fair may be to blame. It is either that, or the boys need a little drama in the game to keep things interesting, and they did not disappoint.

Judge Melton: We need to do more on jobs

But answers to a recent LCADD Economic Status Survey leads her to conclusion that job situation inside Adair County may have improved slightly while situation for the large Adair County commuter workforce worsened more than than improvements here. Getting jobs remains the top priority here, she, other leaders say.

By Ed Waggener

Recent upward trends of unemployment figures in Adair County, KY, on the surface, make for pessimistic outlooks.

"That's what I had been thinking, too," Judge Ann Melton said, "until I started looking at the overall picture based on a survey Sue Stivers and I filled out for the Lake Cumberland Area Development District."

What we found, Judge Melton said, was that Adair County is now seeing why it is so important to provide jobs at home for more of its citizens.

Letter: Suggestions on signage, lights, CWB and approaches

About: Remembers reluctance to put light at old Walmart

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

I agree something needs to be done about this section and hopefully before someone dies.

It is so odd. that a part of the highway that has always merged together has so many signs stuck in the middle of the highway to get people to twist and turn, where all they had to do was let it merge like before.
