Agrees with Phyllis Gooden on Downtown Parking

About: Downtown parking should be left for customers

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

Amen to this! I for one know this is true having managed my nephew's mens shop back in the late 80s and early 90s.

Customers would call me and say they had been driving around and around the city square waiting on a parking spot. People just parked for the day and never moved!

Recurrent events for July and August, 2009, have just been updated. As always, your help in maintaining the accuracy of the Community Events Calendar is requested. If changes or additions are needed, please let us know.

A new feature of Events that each day's schedule has a button for a printer friendly printout, if a hard copy for a store, restaurant, hotel, or other gathering place is needed. Here's the button to print out the day's Events for Tuesday, June 30, 2009.

If you have events to add, please send them using any of the Contact/Submit buttons. We appreciate it if events submissions follow our formats, with no all caps submissions.

We especially invite clubs to send scheduled meetings and to include contact information which would be useful for new members.

Please note that the Columbia Rotary Club now posts meetings of this club in events each month. They meet every Monday night, as is well known, but posting in Events is another reminder for members, for prospective members, and for tourists and other travelers to the community who read The Mobile Version of ColumbiaMagazine.com often on Mobile Devices, and would like to visit the local club. Many other civic organizations and special interest groups have been posting meetings on Events since the calendar was started.

Thanks to everyone for all they do to maintain this Community Calendar of Events. -EW
