Don Neat message at New Hope 'homecoming' a blessing

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

Sunday night at New Hope Separate Baptist Church we experienced a night like no other. We were blessed to have Don Neat giving testimony and Richardo Hughes and Bobby Webster singing.

Words could never express the spiritual feeling that was with us last night as they brought the message thru testimonies and singing. We appreciate so much all the visitors who came to support Don.

New Hope is where Don went to as a child and he said he felt like he was at home. Thank you to Don, Richardo and Bobby. I know that I was truly blessed!

About: Mountain Laurel Watch At or near peak May 17 2009

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

Excellent pictures of the mountain laurel from the Corbin's Bend Road looking upstream of the lake. That view looks so familiar, as I can see the Holmes Bend Dock and our home place at the dock. Did you use a filter to get the excellent green color of the timber?

George Rice

Thanks. We'd love to hear more about your home place and how Green River was before the Green River Dam. As for the photo, no filter was used. Actually, it's just a little $100, almost throwaway camera. Just point and shoot. And when buttons are changed, it's by accident. The fabulous greens are simply because Adair County is the greenest place on earth right now. -EW

BJ Fudge: The aim of language is to communicate

About: Carol Perkins: "Waspers Punkins and Tators"

By Billy Joe Fudge

Like Ms. Perkins, I love language and long to be able to speak and write correctly. However and since the purpose of language is to communicate thoughts, ideas, and feelings, I suppose that whatever causes that action to function effectively and efficiently with the target audience would be correct.
