School is now about 550 votes away from being in the coveted Top Thirty Slots. Mike Harris urges extra push tonight to find 2, 3, 4 or more people to join the effort and vote every day. projects a need for about 550 votes to move Adair County into Top Thirty

By Mike Harris

At 4:30pm today (Friday), our vote count was 4,441, which put our field in 36th place!!! This is huge jump since Wednesday night when we were in 46th place.

My brother, Terry, and several of his co-workers and friends are now voting for our field everyday in New York city. I would encourage everyone who is voting to find at least one other person to start voting, and we will double our votes per day. Finding 2,3,4, or more people to vote will have a similar effect on our votes.

Find a friend, neighbor, co-worker, or family member and convert them into a full fledged everyday "Field of Dreams" voter. Keep the dream alive!!!

Poochy is home, thanks to CM Readers!

About: "Small people-friendly dog found wandering in road"

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

"Mr. Poochy" is now home! Thanks to CM and its faithful readers, the elderly and vision-impaired Mr. Poochy has returned to his family after wandering several miles from home.

On a personal note, I appreciate CM for offering this service to reconnect beloved pets with their owners. In the past it was difficult to get the wanted posters out to all the right places, and since pets often stray far beyond where we imagine we'll find them, the "right places" were not always really accurate.

Additionally, thanks to the CM advertising sponsors who make all this possible for the community--we'll remember you when choosing where to shop and find services!

Mike Akin endorses AG Jack Conway effort

Fed up with auto warranty telemarketers
About: "G Jack Conway files lawsuit against auto warranty telemarketer"

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

I am so glad that Jack Conway has filed this lawsuit. I am so tired of getting annoying calls from these suto warranty people. I am on the do not call list, and I would say that I average one call a day. Some days it is two or three. I do not answer 800 or 866 numbers, but they have caught on to that, and the latest is from a cell phone in California.

Comment: Constables omitted from AdairConnection.com. Why?

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

My Constable Office has a website which can be found via most search engines. My website address is http://home.windstream.net/jtrector and can also be found via the State Constable Association at http://www.kentuckyconstableassociation.org. I think we as Constables should be included on the Adair County Website also, after all we are elected public officials of Adair County voters.

s/Col. Jason Rector

Surely Shamarie and Mother Ann will see that something is done sometime today to give equal treatment to all elected officials. To observe their progress and penitence on this issue, go to AdairConnection.com Elected Officals. . If they can post Shamarie's favorite cow in the Rural Living header, surely they will get the constables listed post haste. Or call (270) 384-2730. -EW

Epicurean Kentuckian: Asparagus and tomatoes

. Two great Kentucky-grown ingredients: Tomatoes from a prolific patio plant, and asparagus. It's an irony to consider every year that more of the delicacy isn't grown in a state whose climate and soils are so nurturing. It's not uncommon to volunteer aparagus growing in fence rows.
