ARRA Dollars to help lower diesel emissions

Program example of President Obama's three pillars of education, economy, and environment coming together in one initiative, Gov. Beshear says

From Gov. Steve Beshear's Communications OfficeFRANKFORT, KY - Gov. Steve Beshear and the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet's Division for Air Quality (DAQ) announced that DAQ will be administering at least $1.73 million in funding for Clean School Bus programs through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009.

"This is an example of how President Obama's three pillars of education, economy and environment can come together in one initiative," Gov. Beshear said. "The Clean School Bus programs will create more than 30 jobs, benefit air quality, and reduce student absenteeism due to allergies and asthma. I encourage all of our school districts to apply for this funding."

(ADV) Patty Bunch at Ole Town Cafe, Knifley, KY tonight

I, Patty Dixon Bunch, would like to invite all my friends, family, and Knifley Grade School classmates to come join me Saturday night, April 18, 2009, at the Ole Town Cafe, 12190 Knifley RD, Knifley, KY. I have been invited to come sing. Since that was my first stage as a very young child, I am very excited to go back and sing again.

I hope to have my sisters and maybe more of my family come sing with me for a fews songs. I know we are in for a good time.

Randy and his wife would love for you to have supper, but it's not a requirement. Come by and pull up a chair and visit with us for a while.

The Ole Town Cafe is the converted Knifley Grade Center and is located on KY 551 about 15 miles out of Columbia. I hope to see you Saturday night! -PATTY DIXON BUNCH

Good Neighbors: People of Adair Co., KY take care of each other

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

This is a big thanks to Dennis Loy.

My riding lawn mower broke down and my son was mowing the yard with a push mower when the push mower quit working. I was trying to find someone to repair my troubles when Dennis Loy came over and finsihed cutting my grass.

I can't thank him enough. I have lived here now for eleven years and never found a place where the people of the area or county take care of each other like they do in Adair County. I can't thank Dennis enough, I really appreciate it.
