Her Cat and Mouse actually made of ceramic, Kristy Keene notes About: Wants to know more about Cat and Mouse by Kristy Keene To ColumbiaMagazine.com This particular cat and mouse set actually are not made from ivory, but from a ceramic material. The head of the cat and mouse can be removed to reveal a little secret bowl inside. I use them to put my rings in when I am washing the dishes. They are about two inches tall and made in the UK. I saw these on my step-mother's desk at work and fell in love with them. Unfortunately, she doesn't remember where she bought them. s/Kristy Keene 2009-03-29 11:33:56 | Comments | Printable version
Frank Dickerson adopted by his California Netsukes To ColumbiaMagazine.com: I really enjoy your mag and am especially fond of Tom Chaney's offerings. Wish he would do more. Attached is a photo of my personal Netsukes. These two little girls adopted me as their grandpaw since their American gramp is deceased and their other gramp lives in Japan. Photo by their father, who is an Irishman, taken Christmas, 2006. Their mother is Japanese. Their favorite sport is to remind me that I have no hair and a big tummy. Deteriorating right on schedule. Frank Dickerson Thanks! Wonderful photo of all three! There's a Tom Chaney review today. Please note that it was his editor, a man of the highest honor, not CM, who called the notorious Chaney a "rapscallion." We both encourage Chaney to do more, however. Carol Perkins: John Denver...The Memorial Service A great fan of John Denver's, the writer paid homage to great singer in Lexington, accompanied by her saintly husband, Guy. When he died so tragically in October, 1997, I seriously grieved for the man and the loss of his music. I didn't take my adoration that far; however, after searching the internet, I did locate several sites in Kentucky where fans were gathering to honor his memory. Letter: Earth Hour is extremely important Against opinion expressed int: "Contrarian may turn on all lights during Earth Hour" To ColumbiaMagazine.com: Wow! I couldn't disagree with a person more.I think it is extremely important to save our energy, no matter what price we pay for it, and I am in disbelief, given all the scientific facts that support Global Warming that people are still in denial. I have two young children and I think anything we can do to make life easier on them is worth the trouble. Suggests new names for Country Club RD, Columbia, KY To ColumbiaMagazine.com: Now a new street name is in order. Maybe "The Pines Lane", The Pines Drive, Lindsey Pines Drive. I would have preferred the dining room be named "The Eagle's Nest". The "how and when" takes many forms. My daily ritual of taking pills is simple, so simple that it is easy for me to become careless in getting the job done. Being simple doesn't mean it is not important. For example, I know that if I am careless about taking my coumadin, a blood-thinner, I put myself at risk for a stroke.
